The assignment consists of two exercises. One, that is an introduction to XML and XML Schema, and one that is a little bit harder.

The Webshopwww.swedisc.com is planning to store their DVD products in XML format. Your job is to do a suitable XML schema for a single DVD and then mark up an optional DVD according to the newly created schema. Simple and Complex types should be divided in different files. The following files should be handed in: dvd.xml, dvd.xsd, dvdComplexTypes.xsd and dvdSimpleTypes.xsd
The second task of this assignment is to mark a Class diagram in XML. To pass this part of the assignment the following should be done.

Re-engineer this Java implementation of the well-known Observer Design Pattern as a UML class diagram in UML. Tip: Use Rational Rose to create the class diagram. A quick summary of UML class diagrams can be found here.
Create an XML Schema for a class diagram in general. The Schema should include classes, attributes, methods, stereotypes, packages, constraints, inheritance, association, aggregation and dependency and other information you believe is necessary for the schema. The schema for a single class should be in one schema (class.xsd) and the diagram should be in another (classDiagram.xsd). Hint: consider the class diagram as graph consisting of nodes (classes) and edges (relations).
Use the XML Schema you have created to mark up the observer class diagram in XML.
The following files should be handed in: the class diagram, observer.xml, classDiagram.xsd, class.xsd and some other files that might be necesserary to complete the task.
